At the Royal Automobile Club on Pall Mall Zak and Marcela brought together two families, two cultures and over 10 years of stories for a wedding that felt both deeply personal and wonderfully celebratory.

Their day blended Polish tradition with Jewish heritage. There was a beautiful ceremony beneath the chuppah followed by the breaking of the glass, Polish customs and games and an evening of Israeli dancing. With around sixty of their closest friends and family gathered the atmosphere was intimate, warm and full of character.

There was something particularly moving about the way they spoke about one another. Marcela spoke of Zak's patience, empathy and kindness and the way he makes the people around him feel understood and safe. Zak remembered one of their earliest conversations when Marcela asked whether he wanted children. His answer apparently came with rather more certainty than most people might expect on a first date. He already knew the names he would give them. To Zak's surprise Marcela wasn't put off by such a decisive reply and fast forward to today with their daughter Aliyah beside them, it felt like a small detail from the beginning of their story that had quietly come full circle.

Throughout the day a jazz trio provided the soundtrack alongside readings, speeches and the many small moments that happen between the formalities. During the ceremony, a live version of Zak's favourite song by the Arctic Monkeys 'There'd Better Be A Mirrorball' played. It was the first time I had heard it and there was something about hearing it in that moment, with Zak and Marcela listening together surrounded by their guests, that stayed with me. It felt completely right for the moment and became the natural soundtrack for their film.

As the evening unfolded the formality gave way to dancing, laughter and Polish games with the celebrations continuing long into the evening.
